Who we are
Stawi is the technology brand of Stawi Labs Limited (“Stawi”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a technology company that develops, owns and operates digital products, software platforms and online services for individuals and businesses. We are registered in [to be confirmed] under company number [to be confirmed], with our registered office at [to be confirmed]. You can contact us at [email protected].
Scope of these terms
- These terms apply to your use of https://stawi.org (the “website”) and to every product and service we offer through it, unless a separate written agreement with you says otherwise.
- Some products have additional terms that apply alongside these terms: the Marketplace Terms, the Partner and Referral Programme Terms and the Refund and Cancellation Policy. Where there is a conflict, the product-specific terms take priority for that product.
- Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
- By using the website or buying a product, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or our services.
Using the website
- You may browse the public parts of the website without an account.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal capacity where you live, to buy a product, open an account or join the partner programme.
- You must not interfere with the website, attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, or use automated tools to scrape or copy content at scale.
- We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the website at any time.
Accounts
- Some services require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account.
- The information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date.
- Tell us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently.
Products and services
We currently offer, or are developing, the following products. Each has its own status and distinct terms set out below.
Job Alerts (available)
- Job Alerts provides job listings and, for paid subscribers, personalised job notifications by the delivery channels we make available from time to time.
- We are not an employer, recruitment agency or employment business. We do not guarantee that any listing is accurate or still open, that you will receive an interview, or that you will obtain employment or placement.
- Listings may be sourced from third parties. You apply to employers at your own discretion and on their terms. We recommend that you never pay a fee to secure a job.
- A free tier is available with limited features. Paid plans (monthly and annual) are governed by the subscription terms below.
Website Solutions (available)
- We design, build and host websites for businesses. Each project is described in a written scope agreed before work starts.
- Hosting and care plans are monthly subscriptions. See “Website development services” and the Refund and Cancellation Policy for details.
Digital Marketplace (in development)
- The Marketplace is a platform where independent businesses (“Sellers”) will list and sell physical goods to customers. It is not yet operational. Businesses may register interest, but checkout is not live.
- When it launches, use of the Marketplace will be governed by these terms together with the Marketplace Terms.
Partner and Referral Programme (available)
Approved partners earn commissions on qualifying revenue from customers they refer to our own products. Participation is governed by the Partner and Referral Programme Terms.
Financial Technology (in development)
See “Financial technology (under development)” below. No financial technology service is currently offered.
Subscriptions, payments and renewals
- Prices are shown on the website at the time of purchase, in the currency displayed. Taxes are included or added as stated at checkout.
- Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider through its hosted checkout. We never see or store your full card details.
- Automatic renewal. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- Cancellation. Cancel from your account settings or by emailing support at any time. Cancellation stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the paid period.
- If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it and, if it still fails, suspend or downgrade the service.
- We may change subscription prices by giving you reasonable notice before your next renewal. If you do not accept the new price you may cancel before it takes effect.
- Refunds are governed by the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Website development services
- Work begins only after you have agreed the scope, price and timeline in writing (email is sufficient).
- Deposit arrangements: [to be confirmed]. Deposits are generally non-refundable once work has started, except as agreed in writing.
- Typical delivery is a few weeks from receipt of content, depending on scope. Timelines are confirmed in writing before work starts. Delays caused by late content, feedback or approvals from you extend the timeline accordingly.
- Changes outside the agreed scope are quoted and agreed separately before we carry them out.
- You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of all content, images and data you supply, and you confirm you have the rights to use them.
- On receipt of full payment, you own the final website content and design produced specifically for you. We retain ownership of our tools, templates, frameworks and know-how, and grant you a licence to use them within your website. Third-party components remain subject to their own licences.
- Hosting and care plans renew monthly and can be cancelled with notice as set out in the Refund and Cancellation Policy. We will give you a reasonable opportunity to export your website before hosting ends.
Marketplace
- We operate the Marketplace technology only. Sellers are independent businesses and are not our employees, agents or partners in the legal sense.
- The contract for the sale of goods is between you and the Seller. The Seller is responsible for listing accuracy, stock, pricing, order acceptance, fulfilment, delivery, returns, product liability and first-line customer service.
- Payment processing for Marketplace transactions is subject to separate approval by our payment partner. Until approved, checkout is not live and we do not collect payments on behalf of Sellers. We are not a custodian of Seller funds.
- Full terms are in the Marketplace Terms.
Partner and referral programme
- Only approved partners may earn commissions. Commissions are payable only on qualifying transactions as defined in the Partner and Referral Programme Terms.
- Commission payouts are business expenses paid by us to partners. They are not customer refunds or Seller settlements.
Financial technology (under development)
- We are developing financial technology infrastructure focused on self-custodial digital accounts and savings-group functionality. These services are not yet offered and will be introduced only subject to applicable legal, regulatory and payment-partner requirements.
- Stawi Labs Limited is not a bank, deposit-taking institution, licensed lender, regulated payment institution, custodian or investment manager, and makes no claim to hold any such licence.
- Nothing on the website is financial, investment or legal advice.
Acceptable use
You must not use the website or our services to:
- break any law or infringe anyone’s rights;
- upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt our systems;
- send spam, misleading communications or unsolicited bulk messages;
- impersonate any person or organisation;
- post content that is defamatory, obscene, hateful or that incites violence;
- resell or sublicense our services without written permission.
Intellectual property
- The website, its design, text, graphics, logos, software and the Stawi brand belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
- You may view and print pages for personal or internal business use. Any other use needs our written permission.
- If you send us feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them without obligation to you.
Third-party services
Our services depend on third parties such as hosting and CDN providers, email delivery services, payment providers and analytics tools. We are not responsible for the availability or conduct of third-party services, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.
Service availability and changes
- We aim to keep our services available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, upgrades and events outside our control may cause downtime.
- We may add, change or withdraw features. If a change materially reduces a paid service, you may cancel and receive a pro-rata refund for the unused period.
Termination
- You may stop using the website at any time and cancel paid services as described in these terms.
- We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue a service. Where reasonable, we will give you notice.
- Termination does not affect rights and obligations that have already accrued, including payment for services provided.
Disclaimers
- The website and services are provided “as is” and “as available” to the extent permitted by law.
- Content on the website, including job listings and product information, is provided for general information and may contain errors or be out of date.
- We do not warrant that the services will meet your specific requirements or produce any particular outcome, including employment or sales.
Limitation of liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or breach of non-excludable consumer rights.
- Subject to point 1, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data or loss of goodwill.
- Subject to point 1, our total liability to you for all claims arising in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant service in that period, or, where you paid nothing, a nominal amount to be confirmed in the governing law review ([to be confirmed]).
- We are not liable for goods sold by Sellers on the Marketplace, or for the acts or omissions of third parties.
Indemnity
If you are a business user, you agree to compensate us for losses, costs and claims arising from your breach of these terms, your content, or your misuse of our services.
Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms excludes, limits or overrides rights that you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot lawfully be excluded. If any provision conflicts with such rights, the rights prevail.
Dispute resolution
- If you have a problem, please contact us first at [email protected]. We will try to resolve it quickly and fairly.
- If we cannot resolve the matter informally within 30 days, either party may pursue the remedies available under the governing law below. Consumers may also have the right to use local dispute resolution bodies.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [to be confirmed], and the courts of that jurisdiction have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top shows the current version. For material changes affecting paid services, we will notify you by email or on the website before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
